From "Love is Vickery Ministry" Newsletter

This was written for the Love is Vickery Newsletter regarding Helping Hands. As always, names have been changed to protect those involved:

A family of five, living in a one-bedroom apartment, with one part-time, minimum wage income.

In Vickery Meadows, this scenario is far from uncommon. For the “A” family, this reality also accompanied the unforeseeable knowledge that the mother was pregnant with her fourth child.

For most, a pregnancy allows approximately seven months of preparation time. For the “A” mother, not only were all of her boys older and born in another country (where all of their baby things were left behind), when she found out she was pregnant, she was already eight months along.

The pregnancy came as a shock to everyone. “A” Mother, in her eighth month of pregnancy, was as thin as ever, not showing even a slight indication that there could be an additional life residing within her.

Consistently, we prayed over her, the baby within her, and her family. We prayed for their health, their finances, and their salvation.

Soon after, God put it on our hearts to ask for financial assistance for this family. We spoke for less than 5 minutes to a group of people in their mid-20s at Northwest Bible Church. God stirred the hearts of those present, and within an hour, they graciously gave $1,770. Within the course of the week following, the NWB community additionally contributed more than sufficient amounts of provisional items for the baby.

On September 20th, beautiful, healthy *Angel “A” was born into this world. Both she and her mother are doing wonderfully, with no health complications. Praise be to God!
